Free standing wall cabinets with display area

The goal was to create display area in a small living room and to gain also as much storage space as possible.

The wall cabinets had to be functional but not intrusive.

To take away any familiarity with traditional wall cabinets the doors where not symmetric and had not door handles.

The lighting system for the display was well chosen to only give enough light to the art objects and give them the respective attention.

The white wash finish made the birch ply wood very neutral and gave the art the space to show themselves.

Inside the wall cabinets are several shelves which can be changed in height if necessary.
All glass and porcelains had its space.

This project was designed in very close cooperation with the clients Kim and Nic.

Their ideas and requests and the experience and suggestions from Alvaro made this project a very satisfying success.

Materials:
- The cabinets are made in birch ply wood A grade.
- The finish is Osmo oil wax white wash.
